Mixed load processing - Local Restrictions (for Ports ,Vessels and Operators)< previous >< next >

A restriction applies to the transportation of a specific substance. the restriction can be independently applied to Passenger or Cargo sailings, and to Tank or Non Tank packaging conditions. With regard to Ports only, the restriction may apply to any combination of Loading, Discharge and Calling. The stowage restriction may be one of the following:

NoneThis is the default, and signifies there is no specific stowage restriction.
On or under deckSubstance may be transported on or under deck.
On deckMust be transported on deck.
With approvalCompetent authority approval required.
ProhibitedSubstance prohibited.

Validation will always impose the most severe restriction. For instance, if the IMDG Code permits On or Under Deck but a vessel restriction imposes On Deck, then the load must be transported On Deck.

For each restriction, you may enter a free text comment and also assign up to 4 additional IMDG Code stowage comments. These comments are not considered during validation, but they are used to provide additional restriction details. They are displayed in the Comments screen and on the Load Details report.

You may also enter quantity limits for Net Weight, Capacity and Net Explosive Content (N.E.C). These limits are advisory only and will not cause a load to be invalid. When any limits are exceeded, however, you will see a warning message in the Comments screen and on the Load Details report.
